Police Recovers Stolen Vehicles Via Electronic Registration

The Kano State Police Command has recorded a significant achievement in its efforts to combat motor vehicle theft, with the recovery of seven motor vehicles reported stolen through the NPF Electronic Central Motor Registry (e-CMR) platform.

A statement released on Thursday by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna, said the recoveries followed different complaints lodged through the NPF e-CMR platform on theft of the motor vehicles.

“As the recovered motor vehicles are handed over to owners; Kano Police Command encourages members of the public to ensure security of their vehicles and utilize the opportunity provided by the NPF to register their vehicles,” Haruna said.

He said the vehicles recovered included Truck Howo, reported stolen from Ririwai in Doguwa LGA, Kano and recovered in Lokoja, Kogi State and Honda Accord 2013 model, reported stolen from Abuja on and recovered at Airport Road, Kano.

Also a Mercedes Benz GLK, stolen from Magwan Road Kano was recovered at Hotoro Quarters, Kano while a Toyota Corolla LE, stolen from Abuja, was recovered at Kano and a Toyota Camry, stolen from Kaduna, was recovered at Kano.

Similarly, a Toyota Hilux, stolen from Katsina State, was recovered at Ring Road Bypass, Kano while a Pontiac Vibe, reported stolen from Katsina State, was recovered at Ring Road Bypass, Kano.

“All the motor vehicles were recovered by the Police Command and handed over to their rightful owners. These have proven the NPF e-CMR platform to be an effective tool in the fight against vehicle theft,” he said.

According to him, the Kano State Police Command is committed to leveraging this technology to protect the lives and properties of all Kano residents.

“The Kano State Police Command encourages members of the public to utilize the opportunity provided by the Nigeria Police Force to register their motor vehicles with Electronic Central Motor Registry (e-CMR) via website https://cmris.npf.gov.ng which will assist in checkmating vehicle theft related cases,” Haruna said.

While appreciating members of the public for their support, the command urged everyone to continue to assist the Police by providing information regarding criminal activities or suspected individuals.
