The First Lady, Senator Remi Tinubu on Thursday commissioned the newly completed lodge road within the Government Reserved Area of Nasarawa local government of Kano state and flagged off the construction of Sarkin Yaki road in Sabon Gari area of Fagge local government.
Recall that Mrs Tinubu was in Kano State to officially launch the Energise Commercialisation Now (ECoN) an initiative designed to mobilise innovation, attract investment, and accelerate industrial production across the six geo-political zones of the country.
Mrs Tinubu was accompanied by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, alongside his Wife, the Wife of the Governor of Katsina , the Wife of the Deputy President of the Senate and other distinguished women leaders who added colour and significance to the occasion.
This was contained in a statement on Friday by Mustapha Muhammad, the Chief Press Secretary to the Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf.
Speaking during the event, Senator Oluremi highlighted the importance of infrastructure as a catalyst for economic advancement, social inclusion and national development.
“Quality roads remain essential for easier movement of people and goods, improved security access, and stronger state and national economies,” she said.
She further stressed the need for sustained collaboration between Federal, State and Local authorities to ensure more communities benefit from impactful projects that address the needs of the people.
In his remark, Governor Yusuf described the First Lady visit as a moment of pride and joy for Kano State and a testament to the spirit of partnership needed to advance development goals.
He reiterated his administration’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote growth, modernisation and prosperity across the state.
The commissioning of lodge road and the flag-off of Sarkin Yaki road project are expected to open new opportunities for businesses, improve transportation networks and contribute significantly to urban renewal in Kano metropolis.
