The Kano State Executive Council has approved the release of N700 million for the payment of registration fees for 7,000 Kano Indigene students studying at Bayero University Kano.
The state governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf announced this on Monday night, on his verified Facebook page.

Recall that the Kano State Government through the Commissioner for Higher Education, Dr. Yusuf Kofar Mata had recently engaged Bayero University Kano in discussion over measures to reduce the over 100 percent registration fees increase.

In the Facebook post, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf said the approval of the N700 million for the payment of Kano students at BUK was granted at the state executive council meeting held on Wednesday considering the economic hardship in the country.
He said modalities for the payment would soon be rolled out.
