A Chieftain of All Progressives Congress in Kano, Musa Iliyasu Kwankwaso has accused the former Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasiru Elrufai, of allegedly resorting to blackmail, lies and baseless concoction against President Ahmad Bola Tinubu in his desperate moves to checking out the President in 2027.
“You cannot discourage and check out President Tinubu out of 2027 contest the way you did to former President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015, using poverty, insecurity and economic devastation, because such your bad tendencies are known to everyone”, Iliyasu Kwankwaso, said.
Iliyasu Kwankwaso, who made the remark in a statement he personally signed and issued to Newsmen in Kano, Monday, said that Mallam Nasiru Elrufai, has forgotten that himself and others used the same method of blackmail in 2015 against Jonathan.
“It is on notice that President Tinubu has not only done much on security, economy and even the poverty rates in the country but he has drastically changed the narrative with many places being secured and prices of commodities being affordable”.
He said, “The insecurity met on ground by President Tinubu is gradually becoming history, thanks to Mallam Nuhu Ribadu the Security Advisor to the President, but People like El-Rufaii are not happy with what is happening”.
Kwankwaso challenged El-Rufai to come out with a concrete evidence on what he alleged that the Government of Tinubu is sponsoring banditry and other criminal acts in the country, “otherwise he should shut up and allow the Government to continue on the good things it’s doing for the country”.
He alleged that, “All the likes of El-Rufai are doing is to instigate northerners against the Tinubu’s government, but it is clear that Northerners are not stupid, they know what the Government is doing from Birnin Gwari to Sokoto and Borno state”.
“I wonder how a coalition of failures in the likes of El-Rufai, Atiku Abubakar, Dr Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and others what they would bring to the country, and among them who is capable of doing quarter of what Tinubu is doing today, is it Atiku who failed as a Vice President, or El-Rufai who today is facing treacherous charges against Kaduna or Kwankwaso who also failed as a Minister of Defense and currently he has no party or political platform to rely on?
He reminded that, “in the last eight years of Buhari Government which Nasiru El-Rufai was an active participant and advocate of supporting it they could not wipe away insecurities, economic hardship while after meeting Dollar rates at N160 during Jonathan they left it for Tinubu to inherit it at N1500”.
“In any case, today Mallam Nuhu Ribadu under the orders of the President and his full support is daily crushing bandits, Boko Haram and other criminals with their commandants on a daily basis being killed or captured, while the Nation itself is stabilizing gradually”.
“You can see, the greatest beneficiaries of these progresses are largely Northern Nigeria, as one can travel conveniently from Kano to Abuja, Birnin Gwari, Zamfara, Sokoto to Kebbi and Borno State, all these are the efforts of the Security Adviser who never sleep and believes that his region must benefits from the goodies of the Government of Tinubu’s”.
lliyasu Kwankwaso, reminded that from Independence to date Northern Nigeria produces about eight Head of States and Presidents while the South produced only six but why is it that despite this background the region large behind not until Tinubu who is a Southerner and who believes in one Nigeria is doing his best for the North”.
He therefore urged Nigerians to be united and rally round President Tinubu to enable him complete his two terms for their own good, urging them not to listen to blackmailers who have nothing to offer but negativity and dislikes for one another”.
“President Tinubu stood alone in 2023 as a leader and won the Presidency with eight million votes but I’m assuring you that he will win this time around with the support of Nigerians and more specifically Northerners with 15 million votes,” Kwankwaso boasted.
