Armed bandits invaded Dansadau General Hospital in Maru local government area of Zamfara state, searching for medical workers apparently to treat their wounded colleagues.
The bandits succeeded in abducting a nurse and caregiver during the invasion.
Confirming the attack, Danlami Muhammad, one of the residents, told Daily Telescope that the bandits invaded the hospital in the middle of the night searched all units and wards looking for medical personnel to kidnap.
“They started with Out Patients Department (OPD) and then wards before they moved to the staff quarters. They got only a nurse and medical caregiver in one of the wards and they kidnapped all of them.
“They are looking for medical personnel to kidnap apparently to treat their wounded colleagues in the bush. But fortunately, the medical personnel have since suspended night duty at the facility, otherwise they would have been kidnapped during the raid.
It could be recalled that few days ago, 22 suspected bandits’ informants were arrested in Dansadau town by army personnel.
