Sallah: Goje’s wife dolled out gift to women politicians

The wife of Senator Muhamamd Danjuma Goje, Hajiya Amina Binani, has donated dozens of clothes to various women groups as Sallah gift.

The gesture, Daily Telescope gathered is meant to appreciate women politicians for supporting her husband over the years.

The women politician from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and other interest groups from Akko and Yamaltu/Deba LGAs of the Gombe state, were at Goje residence to pay Sallah homage.

Taking turns to speak, the women appealed to Hajiya Amina, to beg Senator Goje, on their behalf, to jettison his earlier decision not to seek for elective position in 2023.

Goje, two-term governor of the state and now Senator representing Gombe Central Senatorial at the National Assembly, had in 2019 announced his decision not to contest for re-electiion.

APC Zonal Women Leader in Gombe Central, Mrs Rose Danjuma, people of the zone are feeling his impact across religious and ethnic divides; “therefore, we are saying no to his earlier decision. We do not have any candidate in Gombe Central, our loyalty and support are for him,” she said.

On her part, the state APC Women Leader, Hajiya Lumbi Abubakar, said Goje’s interventions cut across the state and the entire Northeast geo-political zone.

According to her, he is among the prominent persons who midwifed the birth of Gombe state, hence the call for him to contest again and continue with his developmental strides.

In her response, the Goje’s wife thanked the women groups for the visit and assured them that she would forward their request to her husband.

“Although, he is yet to reply various call on him to shelve his decision. But I can tell that my husband has assured that, even if he would not contest for senate again, he would continue to support and assist people,” she said.
