The Katsina State Police Command says it has arrested wife of a bandit in possession of over N2.4 million in Batsari Local Government Area of the state.
The suspect, a 27-year-old Aisha Nura, was said to be a wife of a notorious bandit, one Nura Alhaji Murnai.
The command’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Gambo Isah disclosed this while briefing journalists in Katsina.
SP Gambo Isah said the money was suspected to be proceeds of arms supplied to bandits in Kaduna state.
He explained that in the course of investigation, the suspect confessed to her crime and told police that she was sent by her husband, Nura Murnai, to take the money to the camp of bandits’ leader, Abu Radda, to collect the money on his behalf.
The police spokesman, further said the command has also succeeded in arresting a gang of armed robbers terrorizing Batsari LGA of the state.
