The Kano State University of Science and Technology (KUST) Wudil has concluded plans to establish a faculty of pharmaceutical sciences.
This was revealed in the November edition of the university’s monthly news bulletin obtained by Daily Telescope.
According to the announcement, the Technical Committee on Strategies and Plans for the establishment of the faculty of pharmaceutical sciences has already submitted its report to the Vice Chancellor, Professor Shehu Alhaji Musa.
It added that “teaching, research and other academic activities will soon commence in the field of pharmacy at the Kano University of Science and Technology”.
Receiving the report, Professor Musa said all the recommendations offered by the technical committee would be studied and implemented judiciously.
The vice chancellor, represented by his deputy on administration, Professor Tijjani Saleh Bichi commended the committee members for the assignment.
On his part, the Co-chairman of the committee, Professor Lawan Alhassan Bichi, said the committee had made contacts, consultations and studied relevant materials that led to the production of a comprehensive report.
In the same vein, Registrar of the varsity, Aminu Bello Muhammad said the committee members were chosen based on their professionalism and experience.
He said the committee’s work would create an avenue for the training of younger generations in the field of pharmacy and other related disciplines.
