Katsina Assembly rises 2021 budget by over N3bn

Katsina State House of Assembly has passed into law the 2021 appropriation bill to N286bn.

However, the house has increased the budget by N3bn above the initial amount presented to legislative chamber by the state Governor, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari.

According to the breakdown of the budget as passed by the legislative arm of the government, the recurrent expenditure stands at N88bn, while the capital expenditure is N197.9m.

Daily Telescope recalls that Governor Masari had in November this year presented a budget of N282.78bn to the House for appropriation.

In the proposed budget, the sum of N19 billion was allocated to education sector and N22b for water resources respectively.

Also, the Agriculture, works and environment sectors were allocated with N20bn, N43bn and N27bn accordingly.
