Gunmen attack Ganduje’s convoy in Zamfara

Gunmen on Tuesday night attacked Governor Abdullahi Ganduje’s convoy while returning to Kano from Zamfara state.

A reliable source who confirmed the incident told the Punch on Wednesday that three policemen were injured during the attack.

According to the source, Governor Ganduje was in Jigawa State governor’s car, Muhammad Badaru when the incident happened.

The source said the security operatives in the convoy engaged the suspected gunmen in a gun battle that led to three policemen sustaining bullet wound.

Recall that suspected bandits killed a lawmaker representing Shinkafi Constituency in the Zamfara House of Assembly, Muhammad Ahmad, on Tuesday night along the same Gusau-Funtua. Road.

The deceased was killed on his way to Kano from Gusau by suspected bandits also kidnapped the lawmaker’s son and driver.

The hoodlums were said to have blocked the road leading to Katsina and Kano State around Shema village on Tuesday.

Gov. Ganduje was in Zamfara on Tuesday with other APC governors that received Gov. Bello Matawalle who defected to the party from the PDP.
