A woman was on Saturday attacked at a polling unit in Tarauni local government area of Kano State for raising up her ballot paper after voting.
It was gathered that the woman, name withheld was approached by some party agents soliciting for her vote, where she promised to vote for their party.
Shortly after casting her vote, the woman was said to have raised the ballot paper to confirm to the agents that she had fulfilled her promise, which angered other people who immediately attacked her.
However, the quick intervention of security agencies at the polling unit calmed the situation where the woman was whisked away.
Meanwhile, the Kano state Deputy Governor and APC governorship candidate, Dr. Nasiru Gawuna had cast his vote at 9:40 am at his polling station, Gidan Nasiru Ahli 041 Nasarawa local government area.
