Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State on Saturday presented staff of office to the second Emir of Bichi, Alhaji Nasiru Ado Bayero with a call on him to use his position to promote peace and unity in the emirate and the entire state.
Recall that the present Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, was the first Emir of Bichi after the deposition of his nephew, Muhammad Sanusi II by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.
Speaking shortly after presenting the staff of office, Ganduje urged the Emir to remain the father of all in the Emirate and promote peace and unity among his subjects.
He expressed optimism that the Bichi emirate would witness extensive transformation in view of his vast experience in various field of human endeavors.
“Iam optimistic Bichi emirate will experience extensive transformation during the reign of the Emir of Bichi, Alhaji Nasiru Ado Bayero,” he said.
The Governor advised the monarch to distance himself from anything that could tarnish the image of the traditional institution in the state and the country at large.
Ganduje, who pledged continuous support to traditional institution for the development of the state, insisted that the four new additional Emirates created by his administration would bring more development in the state.
He prayed to Almighty God to give the monarch the strength and wisdom to provide quality leadership to his subjects.
Also speaking, the leader of the Federal Government delegation and Chief of Staff to President, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, congratulated the Emir for the ‘well deserved position’.
He urged him to emulate his late father adding that his late father was a symbol of peace and unity not only in Kano state but across the country.
Earlier, in his acceptance speech, the Emir pledged to work with the three tires of government to ensure that the Emirate gets the much desired Infrastructural development.
“We will work closely with the Federal, State and local governments to bring the needed development to the emirate,” he said.
Bayero, who promised to be fair and just to all manner of people irrespective of their status, thanked all those who attended the Coronation ceremony.
He also expressed gratitude to President Muhammadu Buhari for sending a high-level delegation for the Coronation ceremony.
Among the prominent personalities that graced the occasion included the Federal Government high-level delegation led by the Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari.
Those in the delegation include the Minister of Defence, retired Maj. Gen. Bashir Magashi; Minister of Agriculture, Alhaji Sabo Nanono; Minister of Aviation, Sen. Hadi Sirika; Minister of Water Resources, Suleiman Hussein Adamu as well as the Senior Special Assistant to the President (Media and Publicity), Garba Shehu.
Also in attendance were Emir of Zazzau, Ambassador Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, Oni of Ife, Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III and Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Mustapha Ibn Garbai El-Kanemi among Emirs and Chiefs.
