Katsina State Police Command says four leaders of bandits in the state have voluntarily denounced banditry and surrendered firearms in their possession to police.
The repainted bandits, who hitherto terrorizing villages andtowns in Kano, are Sale Turwa, Mani Turwa, Ado Sarki and Sani Mai Daji.
Briefing Journalists at the Command’s Headquarters Katsina, the Commissioner of Police, Sanusi Buba acompanied by other heads of security agencies, said the four bandits leaders surrendered two General Purpose Machine guns and one AK 49 Assault Rifle,
Other firearms surrendered by the repainted bandits are 23 AK 47 Assault Rifles, 109 GPMG Ammunition, 94 live 7.62mm ammunition of AK 47 Rifle, and 45 rustled cows.
Buba warned that the Nigeria Police Force and other sister security agencies would leave no stone unturned in dealing with any individual or group of unrepentant bandits that refuse to surrender and keep hibernating in the forest.
He assured people of Katsina state that banditry and other crimes would soon be a history as the security forces were on top of the situation.
The Commissioner enjoined members of the public to partner with security agencies by providing them with useful information that will lead to arrest of bandits and their collaborators.
