COVID-19: Over 100,000 households to get palliatives in Katsina

Over 135 thousand house hold have benefited with Covid 19 palliatives in Katsina State, the Speaker of Katsina State House of Assembly, Alhaji Tasi’u Musa Maigari has said.

Maigari made the disclosure at the launching of 5th phase of distribution of palliatives to vulnerable, said from the out break of COVID-19 pandemic to date, Katsina state government had distributed palliatives to vulnerable house hold to cushion their suffering.

The speaker maintained that, the palliatives were provided by the federal government, National Emergency Management Agency NEMA,Victims Support Group under the leadership of TY Danjuma among others.

He said the most vulnerable people in the state have benefited from the gesture, urging members of the distribution committee to maintain the spirit of fairness in discharging their duty.

Also speaking, the permanent Secretary, Deputy Governor’s Office, Alhaji Aminu Abu Bazariye said over 30,000 households will get palliatives during 5th phase of the distribution exercise.

The Permanent Secretary stated that, the items distributed include Rice, Beans, Millet, Guinea Corn, sugar, salt, cooking oil among others.
