The National Industrial Court sitting in Kano has ordered the reinstatement of Muhuyi Magaji Rimingado as the chairman of the Kano Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC) with immediate effect.
Delivering the judgement on Tuesday, Justice Ebeye David Eseimo Isele granted first, second and third prayers of the claimant as contained in the objective summon.
The case is between Muhuyi Magaji Rimingado versus Kano state government and Kano state House of Assembly who stripped him of his position as PCACC chairman.
The first prayer granted by the Court was for the lack of fair hearing the claimant instituted against the defendant.
The second prayer was against the second defendant, Kano House of Assembly who the judge said lacks power whatsoever to dismiss or to recommend dismissal of the claimant without recourse to the principles of fair hearing.
The third prayer granted by the court was that the chairman was wrongfully dismissed by the Kano state government.
After resolving all issues and granting all prayers, the Judge, ordered his reinstatement with immediate effect.
Speaking shortly after the judgement, Counsel to the claimant, Yusuf Ali Faragai expressed satisfaction saying that the court has done the right thing by upholding justice.
Recall that Muhuyi was summarily suspended and later removed from office by former Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje after the state assembly said it investigated and uncovered several anomalies against him.
But he had told journalists that the then governor decided to axe him because he was investigating some capital projects which the name of the first family featured.
